Lee Kvarnberg, manager of the Humane Society of Huron Valley, plays with a Great Dane male which was found in Ann Arbor. The dog is fawn colored and is wearing a rolled leather collar. His owner, like many other area residents, apparently does not realize stray animals are brought to the Humane Society, Kvarnberg says. The Humane Society is urging all dog owners to purchase a Humane Society tag so it can be returned at once. Anyone recognizing this Great Dane should call the Humane Society. The Humane Society of Huron Valley will be easier to find because of a project of the Dixboro 4-H Dog Club. Humane Society Director Lee Kvarnberg admires sign presented to him by Dog Club members Denise Youngman (from left), Chris Colaner, Kathey Snedeker (rear) and Susan Rupp. The club earned and donated the money for the community service project. Two signs have been constructed but only one erected so far, according to Dee Youngman, coordinator of the project and 4-H leader. The society is located at 3100 Cherry Hill Rd.
