East Liberty St Looking East from 200 Block Photographer: Eck Stanger
Year:
1963
Published In:
Ann Arbor News, February 4, 1963
Caption:
ENVISIONED PLAZA: A plaza like this is envisioned for E. Liberty St. This sketch looks east toward the Burton Memorial Tower, at the point where Liberty and S. Fifth Ave. now intersect. An E. Liberty street-wide mall between Main and Division Sts. would lead into the plaza and unidentified special activities facilities. The above sketch is contained in "A Guide to Action-The Ann Arbor Central Area." The photo below is the area as it appears today.
