The city's celebration of its 150th anniversary next year should find Ann Arbor ablaze with flowers under a program sponsored by the Beautification Committee of the Sesquicentennial Commission. The committee, with help from local scouts, students and various civic groups hopes to plant some 20,000 bulbs at various public places. A parent, Basil Babcock, helps youngsters from Abbot School, 2670 Sequoia Parkway, plant bulbs on the school grounds. The students are, from left, Scott Clark, Beth Borton, Dianna Clark, Gaye Hines and Tina Clark.

TYPICAL CLASSROOMS: Even the classrooms in the new Abbot School are different from those in other city schools. A folding partition separates two classrooms to accommodate team teaching. Each classroom has an exit directly to the out-of-doors. Chalk and tack boards in the rooms may be moved up and down. Tack boards have a self-healing vinyl surface so that pin holes will not show.
