DROWNING VICTIM'S CAR: This car plunged through guard rails and into the Huron River under the Factory St. bridge in Ypsilanti early yesterday, minutes before the driver - Johnnie Hammond, 23, of 1760 Upton Ct., Willow Village - drowned while trying to reach shore. In the top picture, an Ypsilanti patrolman and two Ford Motor Co. plant protection men locate the submerged auto prior to extricating it.

Nathan Kett, 90 years old, the only resident of the house, was burned to death when two oil drums in the back shed of the house exploded.
