The thawing weather in the last two days prompted numerous youngsters - and oldsters, too - to build snowmen in Ann Arbor. Above is shown a "wolf at the door" of the home of Prof. Avard Fairbanks, sculptor, which he made to entertain his children. Standing beside the snow wolf are two of the children of Prof. and Mrs. Fairbanks, Grant (left), who is two years old, and David (right), who is three. Prof. Fairbanks received some help in making the wolf from his children.

PREPARING FOR SCULPTURE EXHIBITION OPENING MONDAY: The annual exhibition of work of students in sculpturing in the University Institute of fine arts will open Monday night and will be held in the concourse of the Michigan League through commencement week. Students and faculty of the department are busy modeling and casting their pieces. In the upper picture, Miss Rosemary Mowery (left) of 718 Monroe St. is putting finishing touches to her model, "The Acrobat," and Miss Alice Frayer of Cranbook is shown at the right with her figure of "Parzifal." In the lower picture Prof. Avard Fairbanks, associate professor of sculpture in the institute, is critically touching up his figure of "Snowboy," for which his son, David, was the model last winter.

LITTLE DAVID AND THE GIANT: David is not afraid of the great snow bear because he saw his father, Sculptor Avard Fairbanks, make it. His brother Jonathan, at the left, wanted to have a little bear so he rolled the snowball and helped to form it. The Fairbanks yard at 1051 Lincoln Ave. is always an art exhibition after a snow fall.
