Prize-Winning Gardens: Top winners in a garden contest sponsored by the Smith-Sullivan Realty Co. of Dearborn for residents of the River House Apartments in Ann Arbor were this balcony (above) and patio (below). First prizes of $100 in savings bonds went to Mr. and Mrs. John R. Modlin of 1205 Island Dr., Apartment 203, for the balcony garden and to Mr. and Mrs. Carl G. Shear of 1217 Island Dr., Apartment 102, for their patio garden. Mr. and Mrs. Modlin (above) and Mrs. Shear (below) are shown with their prize winners.
