Each afternoon at 4:30 Tucky, a semi-cocker spaniel, awaits the arrival of The Ann Arbor News carrier, Peter Staelens, 13, at the home of her mistress, Mrs. D. G. Quirk of 1370 Lathers Rd., on the western outskirts of Ypsilanti so that she herself, Tucky, can deliver The News to the front door. Peter, a student in the eighth grade at the Central school, has many papers to deliver so the daily assist from Tucky is highly appreciated. Peter lives near the Quirk home at 15 Warner Rd.

Doug and his dad, along with the latter's leader dog, are making their rounds here after receiving their bundle of papers at S. Division St and Marshall Ct. The Scott home is at 406 Packard St. Doug is a Perry School sixth grader.

Fred Adams was born in 1934 and grew up in Ann Arbor. He recalls summers playing in the Huron River, youth activities with the Dunbar Center and Jones School, his work as a paperboy, and some of the black neighborhoods and businesses in the Ann St. area. Mr. Adams worked for Johnson Controls for 41 years and owned his own business as an Industrial Manager.
