Mrs. Helen Keppler of 2605 Whitewood demonstrates that it doesn't take 40 kinds of flowers to make a spectacular display. This solid bed of Gloriosa Daises, most of them 56 inches tall in deep shades of yellow and brown, bank the front of her Pittsfield Village home. A close up of the 5 1/2 inch diameter flower is at right. Mrs. Keppler varies the color with white shasta daisies, double purple and pink cone flower daises and yellow sunburst coreopis of the same family. These are of similar heights. Cool June temperatures keep the perennials from wilting, she says. She used no fertilizer.
