MISS SERGEANT BECOMES BRIDE OF ROBERT PARK

Elizabeth Jane Sergeant, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Sergeant of Underdown Rd., Barton Hills, was united in marriage at 4 o’clock Saturday afternoon in the Michigan League Chapel to Robert Kellington Park, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Park of Wickenburg, Ariz.

Rev. Walter Jones of the First Presbyterian Church read the service in the presence of the immediate families and a few close friends. A garden reception followed at the home of the bride’s parents.

The bride was gowned in white organza trimmed with bands of pique and accented with a green girdle. The fitted jacket had a low, square neckline and tight sleeves puffed above the elbow. The ballerina skirt was styled with tiers of pique beads.

She wore green slippers and a white straw hat trimmed with Kelly-green ribbon and daisies. Her cascade bouquet was of white daisy-type chrysanthemums.

Attend Bride

Attending the bride were her cousin, Suzanne Trick of Woodside Rd., and Mrs. Winston Reid (Harriet Raiford) of Richmond, Ind. They wore identical costumes of yellow organza tied with yellow taffeta sashes. Their ballerina skirts had alternating bands of taffeta and organza. Their leghorn hats were trimmed with green taffeta and they wore matching slippers. They carried leghorn baskets with green taffeta handles and filled with yellow and white daisy-type chrysanthemums.

Mr. Park attended his son as best man. The ushers were Robert Eidson of Lincoln Ave. and Ross Marshall of Barton Hills.

The organist was the bridegroom’s great-aunt, Mrs. Cecil Quick of Wickenburg.

Assisting at the reception were Mrs. Harold Trick of Woodside Rd., Mrs. Duane Eidson of Lincoln Ave., Mrs. Walter V. Marshall of Barton Hills, and Mrs. R. Ray Baker of Granger Ave. Gretchen Hutzel of Wallingford Rd. was in charge of the guest book. Also assisting were Eleanor Tibbals of Vinewood Blvd. and Ann Carl of Orchard Dr.

After a motor trip through Colorado to Arizona, the couple will live at 1219 N. Sixth Ave., Tucson, Ariz. For going away, the bride chose a cocoa brown tailored suit with an eggshell blouse, brown reptile purse and shoes and a dark brown velour hat. Over her suit she wore a short tangerine top coat with a brown orchid pinned to the shoulder.

The former Miss Sergeant, a graduate of Pinebrook School for Girls at Glen Arbor, is a junior at the University of Arizona. She is a member of Gamma Phi Beta.
