Plan Kiwanis Convention

Helping plan the Michigan District Kiwanis Clubs convention, scheduled to he held here this summer, are (standing left to right) Warren F. District Kiwanis Meet Set Here

Ann Arbor will entertain the annual convention of the Michigan District of Kiwanis International Aug. 30 through Sept. 2. Approximately 1,000 Kiwanians are expected to attend.

Nicholas J. Prakken of the Ann Arbor club is general chairman of the convention, sessions of which will be held in the Michigan Union.

Preliminary plans for the convention will be made at a meeting May 23 at the Michigan Union. Chairmen of the convention committees who will meet are;

Warren F. Cook, programs; Gene D. Maybee, information; Wendell J. LaCoe, transportation; Howard G. Minier, golf tournament: Mrs. Walter Burrows, ladies’ program; Stephen J. Filipiak, entertainment; Murray D. Wanty, founders' luncheon; Clinton E. Castor, governor's ball and recreation; James J. O'Kane, distinguished guests; Clarence M. Loesell, governor’s banquet; Gilbert L. Lee, hotel reservations; Rev. Edwin J. Weiss, Sunday service; Ad Hill, Wayne, publicity; George F. Smalley, halls and equipment; William Robinson, registration; Donald Johnson, exhibits; George N. Hall, reception; and Howard C. Leibee, Kiwanis Jamboree.
