Post Mortem Ordered For Mrs. A. M. Mattocks

Mrs. Ruth M. Mattocks, about 34, wife of Prof. Albert M. Mattocks of the University’s College of Pharmacy, was found dead in her home at 801 Barton Dr. this morning.

Coroner Edwin C. Ganzhorn said Mrs. Mattocks appeared to have died of natural causes but that a post mortem would be performed at University Hospital this afternoon to determine exact cause of death.

Police said they were attempting to reach Prof. Mattocks, who is in New York City on a business trip.

City detectives Claude Damron and Harry Gensler said a thorough investigation, made of the house immediately after the death was reported, revealed no sign of anything abnormal.

A neighbor called police when Mrs. Mattock’s daughter, Anne, 7, asked her to button her dress so that she could go to school. Police said the girl had left a note near the body telling her mother she had left for school.
