Mrs. Burke Sr. Succumbs At Age Of 76 Mrs. Edna J. Burke, 76, the widow of George J. Burke Sr., Ja prominent attorney and holder of many positions in state, national and international affairs, died this morning in Whitehall Convalescent Home after a long illness. Her home was at 1710 Fenwood Drive. Mrs. Burke was born Aug. 17, 1888, in Caro, a daughter of Edwin J. and Agnes Stevens Fritts. She was graduated from Ypsilanti Normal School, now Eastern Michigan University. | She was married to My Burke on Dec. 29, 1910, and he died on Oct. 3, 1950. He was a former chairman of the Michigan Civil Service Commission, a legal counselor to the Office of Price Administration during World War II, and a judge at the war crimes trials in Nurenburg, Germany, a officer of several companies, and a prosecuting attorney here for four years early in his legal career. Mrs. Burke was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and the Altar Society of the church, Chapter G of PEO, and the Catholic Study Club. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. H. Richard (Dorothy) Coffee of Ann Arbor; and three sons, George J. Burke Jr. of Howell, now business manager of the State Liquor Commission, H. William and Martin J., both of Ann Arbor; 18 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Church with burial in St. Thomas Cemetery. Friends may call at the Muehlig Chapel where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
