Murder Suspect

This is an artists’ conception of the face of a youth being sought in connection with the knife slaying last June of Joan E. Schell, an Eastern Michigan University coed. This young man was in a black-and-red, late-model car which picked up Miss Schell in front of EMU’s McKinney Union on the night of June 30. Five days later her body, riddled with stab wounds, was found in a deserted area off Glacier Way in Ann Arbor. Police say two previous reproductions of the youth’s face were inaccurate. They say this drawing is “letter perfect.” More than $10,000 in reward money has been posted for the arrest and conviction of Miss Schell’s killer.
