New Site Set For Hard Rock Event Sunday

Tomorrow’s “rock music concert” will be held from 2-5 p.m. on the Fuller Rd. site of the proposed U-M Residential College. This is the flatland area, formerly part of the municipal golf course, located just east of the Huron River and west of the Huron Towers apartments.

Last week’s concert drew more than a thousand spectators to West Park, but, because of the desire of City Council that the concerts be shared with other parts of the city, Assistant City Administrator Don Borut and concert-sponsoring Trans-Love Energies, have been surveying other locations in Ann Arbor that would be suitable for the event.

Sponsors of the concerts had stated last week that they would return to West Park unless suitable space were found elsewhere. The West Park bandshell has been reserved tomorrow and next weekend for practice and a concert by the Ann Arbor Dance Theater.
