Blaess, Otto F.

Age 85, passed away last night at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. He had been a resident of the Martin Luther Memorial Home in South Lyon for the past year. Born April 3, 1884 in Lodi Township, he was the son of Julius and Martha Horning Blaess. Mr. Blaess was married to Lydia V. Jedele on December 16, 1920. She died July 13, 1964. Mr. Blaess was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He was a city employe for a number of years before retiring in 1954. Survivors include: one son, Alton O. of Dexter, and two grandchildren. Three sisters preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, from the Muehlig Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ralph B. Piper officiating. Burial will follow in Lodi Plains Cemetery. Friends may call at the Muehlig Chapel beginning Saturday afternoon. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or the Martin Luther Memorial Home in South Lyon.
