Profits Continue For 2 Local Computer Firms

Information Control Systems. Inc., and its affiliate, ICS Sales & Leasing, Inc., both locally based and privately held firms, announced a combined net profit of $72,305 for the eight months ended Aug. 31, 1975.

It is part of a continuing profit trend begun in August, 1974, according to Benjamin Staal, president and chief executive officer.

Information Control Systems manufactures, markets, installs and services shared logic minicomputer systems in the word processing and automated phototypesetting markets.

Staal said independent surveys of the word processing market by nationally known firms indicate his two affiliated companies with combined sales of $1.2 million lead the shared logic industry in the number of installed terminals, 500, by a 2-to-1 margin.

He said the projected growth for the industry will be $100 million by 1979.

Recent installations include Citibank in New York City, the Department of Agriculture in Washington D.C., the U.S. Army at Ft. Benning, Ga.
