ÜIKMINQHAM, Ala., May 36.- In the southern Presbyterian general assembly yesterday several of the ministers condemned the opinions of Dr. Briggs, of the New Yark Theological seuiinary. The questiom "Can Universalists hold services in the Presbvterian churches?" was answered in the negativo, while Texan Presbyterians who wanted to know know if women.could speak in public were told -at they could. but they must not preach.
