lhe thirteenrh year of the Chequamegon Orchestra was opened ! last evening by electing the follovving officers: Chas. Vanüorbilt, President. Win. J. Smith, Vloe-presldeiit. Geo. Yandawarker, Trcuöui'er. Lew H. Clement, Director and Manager. K. L. Heller. Secret.iry and Asst. Manager. G. W. Collins, Asst. Director. Geo. (J. Keecta, G. E. Foerater, !- Board of Directora. A. Long, The next meeting for rehearsal ! will be next Wednesday at 8 p. m. Every indication points to an unusually successful season. The excellent playii g of the orchestra l,ast season, and especially at the senior reception, made them friends. All but two of last year's members rernain this year and their places have been already filled. Several applications from newcomers have been received, and the prospects point to a larger orchestra than usual. Especial attention is to be given this season to dance work, and frequent rehearsals are to be given to this class of music. Experienced orchestral players, if found competent, can enjoy the advantage of playing with the orchestra by making application to the director at 51 S. Main street.
