Do not take a person severely chilled or apparently frozen into a warm room to be treated. The first thing to do, if the condition requires it, is to attempt artificial respiration as in "drowning. " fíub the liinbs very gently with snow or clotbs wrang out of cold water until good circulation is established. Give stiimilantsüi small quantities ata time as soon as the patiënt can swallow. When fully restored, warm the room very gradnally, cover the patiënt with warm blankets and give beef tea or hot iniJk. For the treatment of frozen bands, feet or any portion of the body the same principies apply. Rub slowly and very gently with snow or cloths wrang ont of cold water while the numbness lasts.
