Edward Rooke, of Chelsea, has a bible which was publisbed in London, Eng., in the yeai 1606, by Robert Barker. It is a copy of what is known among book men as the "Breeches" bible. It takes its narne from the seventh verse of the third chapter of Genesis descriptive of the meeting between Adam and Eve and the serpent when they are tempted to eat of tbe tree of knowledge of good and evil which reads: "'Tben the eyes of them both were opened and they knew that they were naked, and tbey sewed Figge tree leaves t,ogether and made themselves, Breeches." It is a genuine and valuable book and Mr. Rooke would be willing to part with it for a reasonablo consideration.
