Gen. Neal Dow's 93d Birthday

An appreoiative audience assembled at Newberry hall Saturday evening to observe the 93d biithday annivetsary of Hon. Neal Dow. Among the many compliiiieutary tributes doubtless the most interesting was that given by Treasnrer Soule, of the University, who knew Mr. Dow personally, haviug served ander hita in the war of the rebelliou. Mr.JSonle epoke feelingly of the general's bravery and kindness of beart and said that bis wonderfnl powers of endnranoe in those days were attribnted to bis abstemioos habits. His influence was that of a Christian temperanoe gentleman, and his services in that directioo were of no less valne than were his military services.
