Mrs. Rachel Tuttle, a resident of Washtenaw county for 71 years, baving come to the county with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Huff, in 1826, died at her home in Ypsilanti township Thursday of last week, aged 89 years. She was, up to the time of her death. probably one of the oldest pioneers of this county. She waa married in 1828 to Loyal Tuttle, and Ypsilanti city was only a little hamlet, a couple of years old, when she and her husband came to live in the township. Eight children, five boys and tbree girls, were bom to tbern, some of whom are dead, one son, Ira. B., dying Aug. 11, 1861, from the effeots ot a caunon ball concnssiou received at the battle of Buil Run. The funeral services of the deceused lady were held Friday afternoon ' and were laigely attendea.
