High School Oratorical Association
The íirst. animal coutest of the High School Oratorieal Association was held in high school hall Monda}' eyening. Judge N. W. Cheever presided and there was a large number of interested spectators present. Excellent music was furnished by the A. A. H. S. Mandolín Club. The judges were: On thought and coruposition, Prof. F. N. 8cott, L. A. Strauss, John S. Tatlock; on delivery, Judge W, D. Harriman, Rev. B. L. McElroy, Junius E. Beal. The speakers and their subjects were: -"Abraham Lincoln," Frank F. Potter; "Will Our Country Endure'?" A. M. Broomhall; "Fort Wagner," Milton W. Guy; "Invisible Power," Eugene Du Bois; "The Fall of Quebec,'1 Richard Hollister. The first prize of $2-5 in cash was won by Milton W. Guy, whowill represent the school in the Michigan inter-high school contest to be held here May 28. A. W. Broomhall won the second prize of $15.
