Mrs. Fred Kotts, of Toledo, visited in town last week.

Miss Bertha Haschle has been quite ill with bronchitis.

J. H. Kingsley stood well with his own town in the recent election.

Miss Bessie Wisner has been suffering from a severe attack of asthma.

Miss Adelia Campbell is staying with her sister Mrs. J. Main, of Wampler's Lake.

Miss Anna Armstrong went to Albion Tuesday to visit her aunt Mrs. Helen Chapin.

Mrs. Amanda Pickett went to Blissfield Monday to visit relatives over Thanksgiving.

Some of the teachers drove to Chelsea last Saturday to attend the Teachers' Association.

Corporal Allie Hough and Miss Josephine Cebulski visited friends in Ann Arbor last week.

M. D. Case and wife, who have been visiting friends in the western part of the state, returned home Friday.

C. F. Yocum, brother of A. M. Yocum, has supplied a long felt want by opening a merchant tailor shop here.

Mrs. Isaac Hall was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Sawyer, of Chelsea, from Tuesday till Friday of last week.

Irwin Clark, of Saranac, has been here the past two weeks visiting relatives and shaking hands with old friends.

Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Teeter are visiting their daughters Mrs. Geo. Tuck and Mrs. Warren Hoxsie near Wampler's Lake.

Will Marx and Ed. Uphouse, who have been at home on a 30 days' furlough, went to Knoxville Saturday to rejoin their regiment, the 31st Michigan.

The death of W. D. Chadwick, of Stockbridge, was a sad surprise to his many friends here. This was his boyhood home and he was well and favorably known.

Michael Gauss and Miss Maud Jaynes were married last Tuesday at the home of the bride 's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Jaynes. They took the train Wednesday for Albion, where his brother George Gauss resides.
