The attorneys for the plaintiff in the $10,000 libel suit of William Judson vs. Selby A. Moran, have noticed the case for trial at the next term of the circuit court, which begins its sessions Dec. 5. This case, when it comes up, will draw a crowded house and there is no danger of a settlement between the parties. As is well known, the suit is based upon statements in the Register that the sheriff had boasted of illegal practices on election day. The action is one of criminal libel and if a judgement is obtained against the defendant he will either have to pay it, or be put in jail, if the plaintiff elects to pay his board there. The interests at stake are so great that the case will undoubtedly be a hard fought one.
