The Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors on Friday of last week visited the Poor House on a tour of inspection, and reported everything in fine shape. The most of the time has been spent by the Board in committee work. They are subjecting the criminal bilis to a close scrutiny. The County Clerk was given control of the court room, and was instructed to allow it to be used only by the County Agrieultural and Horticultural Society, the Mutual Fire Insurance companies, political conventions, and Pioneer societies. The Jndge of Probate reported fourteen persons sent from the county to the Insatie asylum, ten of whom are a charge upon the county. No more female patients can be sent to the asylum, and provisión will have to be made at the County House for them. The Clerk was instrucled to let the job of printing the calendar and all printing for the county ofHcers, to the lowest bidder. The election of a janitor for the Court House was made a special order forTuesday. Five candidates were in the field for the janitorship, and six ballots were necessary. Spencer Crawford, colored, was elected on the sixth ballot. The salary was fixed at the same figure as last year, $500. _____
