The old Coiincil met on Monday evening last and concluded their labore by allowing bilis to date, etc, after which the Mayor elect, Dr. Wells, took the cbnir, delivered a brief and appropriate address, and the new Council was organized. ïhe Mayor appointed the following committees: Cn Finance - Messrs. Henderson, R. S. Smith, Peek, Slavvson, and Rhodes. On Streets-Memra. Q-. W. Smith, Thompson, Schumacher, Devany, and Taylor. Gov. Felcii was elected City Attorney, and E. B. Pond, City Printer. Tho bonda of the Collector and Constables were presenled and approved Tho salaries ot the Attorney, Mar shal, and Recorder were fixed at $100 for the ensuingyear. $1 was appropriated to pay salary of the Mayor, as fixed by charter.
