The Coiumoo Council held its regular juonthly session on Monday evening. June 6lh, 1864. Present all but Alderman Thompion and Horn. petition of A. W. Chase and others for the opening of an alley in block three ra"ge three north, from Cathcrine street to the street pext nrth. was received and referred to the Itreet commiltee. Communication from C. Eberbach iu relation to the grade of gutter on west side of Main street between Huron and Washington was referred to same committee. Alderraan Parsons from committee on the pening of High street, reported reccommending the laying out of said street, in accordince with the petition, on Mr. Hiscock indemnHying the city against damages. Be-, port adopted Sundry bilis for street work were allowed m recommendation of street committee, amountingto $351,43. Resolutions were adopted, Ist. Ordering the opening and laying out flf a street from Alleu's creek to the west liae of Main street, on the section line be. tweea sections 20 and 29. 2d. Appointing a committee to inquire into the expediency of numbering each tene,nent fronting oa the streets of this city, and f ii is deemed proper that the same shall be done, that they adopt a plan, and with the advice of the City Attornêy report an ordinance for the carrying of the same into eftect. Aldermen Gott, Henderson, and Rhodes irere appointed such committee. 3rd. That the street committee be authoriz9d to establish a grade of descent for a gutter on the west side of Main street from Washington to Huron. 4th That the appointment of Edward 'Siiling as Deputy Oity Marshal be approved. 5th. That the owners of Drays be notified to pay the city license within two weeks after noüce is served.
