Tlie Belgian Monitor givcs some details of the prospect of the approaching harvest in the corn growing countrie of Europe. In Prussia the provisions are unf'avorable. Much of tha autumn sowings perÏ8hed, and those of the spring are sufiering from want of warm sun. In Saxony the appearance is better, as the croüs are thick and hcalthy. In Russia the yield is expected tobe a good average, and a very large quantity of last ye3r's stock still remains unexported at Odessa. In Roumania, Bulgaria and Bcssarabia the aspect is most favorable, and in Hungary an abundant harvest is predicted. In France a large portion of the winter corn is lost, and the fields have had to be resown. Here is another cheap remedy for the potatoe bug. The Cleveland Herald says : " Mr. X. B. Seyraour, whose potato vines wnro afflicted mith bugs, found an effectual remedy in soapsuds and soda. To a barrel of suds he added three povinds of washing soda and sprinkled the Hquid on the vines frora a watering pot. He says tho insects dropped dead instanter,. and that his vines are flourishing while those in his vicinity where owners have done nothing are bocoming rapidly destroyed."
