-For the past winter, a number of hard cases have made lïs city their home, and nearly all the crime ommitted, in the way of petty pilferings, locket-picking, highway robbery, slealing trom aleighs, and house-breaking, has been ïarged upon them. They are to be seen ounging around, without any visible means of upport, aud thus far have eluded the vigilnce of the authorities, who have endeavored o secure suflicient evidence as would warrant ïem in makiug arresta. The misdoings of ie parties have trom time to time been given n our columus, and as our object is only to give the facts as they actually occur, their hreats will avail them nothing, for we have ublished the truth, the whole truth and nothng but the truth, in each and every instance. aturday evening, one supposed to belong to tie same gang, stole a bag ot corn meal from he sleigh of John McNally, opposite a livery stablishmeut on Main street, and liso tried to go through a Germán resident of the Third ward.
