The Shooting Tournament

The tournament at, this city on Thursday and Friday of last week, under the auspices of the Ann Arbor Snhuetzenbund, was quite well attended. Delegates were preBent from Detroit, Jackson and Battle Creek. The shooting was all good and the beat of feeling prevailed throughout the two days. It was a very pleasurable occasion tor those interested. The shooting was held at the grounds of the Ann Arbor Schuetzenbund and the distance 200 yards. No rests were allowed. During the two duys 192 centers were shot by 34 different persons- 99 the lst day and 93 the 2d. The highest number of centers were hit by W. Oberhoff, 18 in number. The next highest by Willet 14 in number and 13 were pierced by F. Funge. These three gentlemen were from Detroit. The last center hit was by our Sheriff, Mr. Fleming. He who was fortúnate enough to " piek off " the first or the last center in an hour was preseuted with a silver quarter. The " hitter " of the fifth won SOcts in silver, and of the tenth a silver dollar, while the three best on centers won respectively four, two and a half, and one dollar in silver. Three hundred dollars worth of prizes were distnbuted among 32 marksmen. For a prize a man had three shots, and the highest possible tally he could make would be 75, twentyfive at each shot. Ruoff, Detroit, 49. Album, $5, C. H. Mauly, 49. Among others who won prizes, we notice on the list A. Wilsey, score 47, and Dr. George, score 4ö. The value of the lowest prize was 75 cents. The Iowest score of those who took prizes was 33.
