Smith. Lieatenant Governor - Jas. M. Bingham. Secretary of State - Hans. B. Warner. Treaurer- Richard Gnenther. Attorney General- Alex. Wilson. Superintenden t of Public Instruction - Wm. C. Whitford. The Republican State convention of Penn. met at Harrisbnrg, Wednesday morning m the hall of the honse of representatives, and was called to order by Mr. Ueray chairman of the state committe ï . Galusha A. Grow was chosen permanen chairman. Samuel Butler of Chester was nominated for State Treasurer. The congressional committee to investígate industry and trade. of which Hon. Hendrick B. Wright is chairman, arrived at Chicago Fnday and began to take testimony Monday. They expect te be there a week. The Democratie State convention of Wisconnin will meet at Madison September 9.
