Two Pioneer Higti School students are among 300 pupils in the nation named to the Honors Group of the 28th ánnual Westinghouse Science Talent Search, it was announced today. Only nine such honor awardsj were made in the entire state ,of Michigan. The AAHS students are Rob-I ert E. Early, 17, of 2039 Millerl Ave., and Douglas W. Jones, 17,1 of 2666 Park Ridge Dr. 1 From the. list of 300 in the Honors Group, 40 students will divide $67,500 in scholarshipl awards and will receive a trip to Washington, D.C. Winneis will be announced Jan. 29. Less than 10 per cent of the studenls who enter the talent search are named to the Honors Group. The purpose of the contest is to discover high school students who have the potenüal to become research scientists. The Science Talent Search is j conducted by the Science Clubs of America.
