The Wednesday fire began in the basement of the house and shot through the first floor, reaching a stairway to the second and third floors moments later. Chief Stauch said workmen, ing major repairs on the house after last December's fire, reported Thursday a number of tools which they had left in the dweiling when they quit for the day are missing. The chief said if the arson is involved it could have been done in an attempt to cover up larcenies.
