FUN ON THE MOUNDS: Students At John Allen Elementary School have a trial run on a new feature of the school's playground. The mounds, just recently sodded, will provide an area for the youngsters to run and play the popular game, "King of the Mountain." The mounds were created out of dirt piles left after the new addition was completed at the school. It's to be expected sledders will try them out in the wintertime too.

There is a new member of Abbot Elementary School who has come to stay. It has been christened Abbotsaurus, or "Abby" for short. The 20-by-6-foot papier mache dinosaur is the creation of the school's two third grade classes, taught by June Anderson and Betty Lardas. The pupils got involved in the project as part of a unit on dinosaurs and spent about two weeks working on it.
