The school, which the Board of Education has named for a former classroom teacher, is scheduled for completion by next fall. The 156,000 square-foot building is planned to house 1,000 students. Construction contracts totaling about $3.2 million were let for the project last May. The school is located on the site of Mitchell School on the city's southeast side.
