The $7,800,000 Bursley Hall Complex on the North Campus of the University is taking shape. At the left is the central service building which will contain a library, seminar rooms, dining rooms, a snack bar, kitchens and other service areas. The service center will link each of eight housing units, one of which is at the right. Completion of the facilities, which will house some 1,200 students, is expected in 1967. It is one of several building projects under way at the U-M.

A covered-entry canopy of the Statler-Hilton Motor Inn is now being erected. When the motel, located on the northwest quadrant at S. State and I-94, is completed, it will contain 128 guest rooms and a restaurant.

Work progresses on the school district's fourth junior high school, Mary L. Scarlett Junior High. The school, which the Board of Education has named for a former classroom teacher, is scheduled for completion by next fall. The 156,000 square-foot building is planned to house 1,000 students. Construction contracts totaling about $3.2 million were let for the project last May. The school is located on the site of Mitchell School on the city's southeast side.
