Connor of t h e University School of Social Work served as acting director through Sept. 1. The reclassifications of department heads woulcl result in wage increases for the city's top personnel, the increase expected to be about five per cent. The ordinance is similar to one which had been proposed last year, but which was not adopted by the council a f t e r dealers registered objections. In other business tomorrow, the council will be asked to approve a resolution to purchase a portion of the Graves property on Huron River Drive east of Bird Road. The council had given tentative approval to the purchase earlier but has not formally acted on it. In a related matter, the council will be, asked to approve the hiring of land purchasers to speed the city's park - land acquisition program, as well as other needed land acquisition.s for thoroughfare right-of-way. Also, the council will be asked to approve a series of voting precinct boundary changes, the major changes occurring in the Third ánd Fourth Wards. City Clerk John P. Bentley says the changes will effect some 6,000 voters.
