ANGELL ENROLLMENT PROBLEMS: To facilitate school organization and to circumvent the need for a fifth-sixth combination class, Angell Elementary School has been experimenting with methods of teaching children in various group sizes. For one period in the morning and in the afternoon sixth graders are in a class of 40 children. By the same token, they are in a class of 18 to 22 for two periods of skill subjects. There is also a second section of sixth graders which contains 35 children most of the time. A crowded classroom at Angell is pictured above.

Coolest Place In Town It was a heated election yesterday in the city, but workers at Precinct Three of the Second ward stayed cool—too cool. The polling place is at Angell School, and custodians there had put off ordering more coal because of this week's spring vacation. Coal was sent as soon as the lack of heat was discovered, but it was too late to heat the building. Working on the returns while wearing their coats are (left to right, seated) Mrs. G. L. Buhrman Jr., Mrs. Leonard K. Eaton, Mrs. Curcy T. Bell and Mrs. Dan Sekaros. Standing are Ben Dushnik and Mrs. Dale Boyles. The coal furnace is one of the few left in the school system.

Just A Few Of Them Just a portion of the 925 musical instruments used in the fifth grade music classes of Ann Arbor public schools can be shown in this picture. Where to store just the stringed instruments is a problem for Benton Young, custodian foreman at Angell School, where all the instruments are kept during the summer. Although half of all the instruments are now out for repairs, every instrument is checked and given a "condition" tag by music experts before it is put in storage.

'AND NOW—': Pam Julin (left) is all set to announce the start of "Peter Mouse Visits the Moon," a puppet show written and produced by the kindergarten class at Angell School. Kevin Thieme (right) is curtain puller. Manipulating the two astronaut puppets at left are Laura Fleming and Robbie Spencer. The mechanics puppets at right are operated by Matt Heywood and Paul LesStrang. The show will open at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the kindergarten room puppet theater, with additional performances at 10:30 a.m. and at 1:15 and 2:15 p.m. Curtain times will be the same for performances on Tuesday.
