FARM BUREAU OFFICERS ELECTED: Recently elected directors of the Washtenaw County Farm Bureau, shown above, met in the county building yesterday afternoon to choose new officers for the year. Reading left to right they are Roland Stein, George R. Haab, Del Begole elected vice president, Robert F. Garrod, new president, Frank F. Geiger, new secretary and treasurer, Gordon S. Gill and Aaron G. Feldkamp. New directors, Ray T. Gibbs and Frank Kleinschmidt do not appear in this picture. Membership of the Farm Bureau in Washtenaw county now totals 180 farmers.

Flammable Dolls Collected: Ann Arbor Fire Department Inspector Benjamin J. Zahn (left) holds on of 26 rag dolls which have been condemned by fire officials throughout the nation as hazardous and highly inflammable. The dolls, all made in Poland and distributed in the United States, have nitrocellulose faces which burst into flame when exposed to heat. The 26 dolls before Zahn and Ann Arbor Fire Marshal John R. Williams have been turned into local authorities since announcement of the hazard they present was made. They will be destroyed, Fire Chief Arthur L. Stauch says.

The painting is quite generally admired for its decorative value as well as for its interpretation of the Michigan scene. The show is sponsored by the art history group of the Faculty Women's Club.

Winning Touchdown: Much to the dismay of the Kalamazoo Central defenders, tailback Walt Blissit gallops into the end zone in the second quarter to score the winning touchdown for Pioneer High at Hollway Field. This nine-yard jaunt was a major part of his 27-yard rushing total for the game that was earned on 15 carries against the Maroon Giants.

SCENE OF AN ORDEAL: Christian Sautter, 74 (right) and his wife, Mrs. Ida Sautter, 73, inspect the battered lock on the closet door behind which they were imprisoned for 12 hours by robbers who invaded their home Tuesday. Mrs. Sautter's finger was slashed by a knife held by one of the bandits. Sautter whittled out a chunk of wood, enabling him to force the door open and gain the couple's freedom.
