Even before the bus left Monday evening, the little guy in the foreground was obviously missing someone who went on the tour. The trip was planned after the youths found they were falling short of efforts to raise enough money, through events conducted during recent months, to meet their original goal of a trip to London and Paris. A blood-stained cloth blanket covers the spot alongside this car where a service station attendant was turned into a human torch late yesterday. Police said 42-year-old Carl P. Nickell of Willis, employed at a US-12 Expressway service station, was doused with gasoline and dumped alongside by the car. Flames from the burning body set fire to paint on the car, but the blaze was doused by state troopers. Police said Nickell evidently was robbed of about $70 before being murdered in an apparent attempt to make the death appear as an accident.
